We are a not-for-profit professional organization whose mission is to represent the air medical communication specialist on a national level through education, standardization and recognition.
Since our inception in 1989 our goals have included providing quality educational opportunities, fostering team work, and building recognition for communicators as professionals within flight programs. NAACS also provides a valuable networking resource within the air medical industry.

Call for NAACS Board Member at-Large
Criteria and Guidelines

The NAACS Board of directors is soliciting Communication Specialists who would like to participate in shaping the future of our organization. The following is the current Board Member at-Large job description followed by eligibility criteria and application guidelines.
- Attend quarterly board meetings. If unable to attend, submit to the President in writing as to why, per the bylaws.
- Chair or participate on one of the NAACS’ committees (Membership, Education, Newsletter, etc.) And report progress at quarterly board meetings.
- Participate in NAACS conference calls.
- Facilitate an awareness and understanding of the purpose and mission of NAACS and provide a resource for the membership.
- Actively recruit members, Program Members, and Corporate Sponsors as well as encourage participation of the membership.
- Act as a liaison between the Board and any other party needing assistance or information.
- Serve a term of three (3) years.
Criteria for this position include: must be a current member of NAACS employed in a communications center that dispatches air medical aircraft and have at least two years of experience. Be able to serve a three (3) year term that involves three trips per year and several conference calls for board meetings. These three meetings include one in January for strategic planning and budgeting, the second in May/June, with the third to be held in the fall during AMTC. The conference calls are scheduled as needed between meetings. NAACS does not provide financial assistance for travel therefore you would have to seek support from your program.
If interested please fill out the application available on line and include with that a typed half page statement indicating why you wish to serve on the NAACS board along with the skills and experience you can bring to the board and membership. A letter of support from your supervisor and/or program director stating that your program is willing to support you financially must also be included.
